Mar 30, 2020 · I have a Stihl FS56 RC trimmer. The unit starts up fine but will not idle when the throttle is let off, it dies pretty quickly. I am not clear on how to adjust the carb. in order to correct this. Assistance would be appreciated. Thank you. The machine may require lubrication, and cooling fins or air passages may be clogged. The battery or charger on a cordless trimmer may be faulty. In general, a malfunctioning Stihl weed eater may be due to faulty batteries, spark plugs, starter recoil coil, starter housing insulation band and driveshaft bushing.
