I drove the piss out of my '91 for years and it was still running like a champ over 200k miles.I have a friend with a low-miles 2002 Boxster. The Boxster top won't operate without the parking brake being set, where you can raise or lower the Miata top as long as the speed is low enough. There are other examples where the Boxster babysits and the Miata is apathetic, but I don't remember at the moment.

Your car is at ~85% of peak torque at 3,500 RPM.
