Feb 7, 2020 · Picked up a taurus tx22. 16+1 polymer framed .22. Overall nice gun for just over 200 bucks. Simple 3 dot sights. Manual safety. Trigger is pretty smooth and breaks at 5 pounds. Takedown is super easy. The mags have tabs to help load but are recessed and untextured which I wish they had texture to grab. Minor complaint. Serial 0332xx, lower number than the first one, only 26 digits apart. The barrel in the new one is stamped "l" on the side, exactly as the replacement for the first one is, so I'm guessing at some point Taurus went and replaced the barrel before shipping it out, as both pistols are brand new from the factory. Put about 500 rounds of various ammo and it cycled fine, except for Aguila subsonic ammo, which would not cycle the slide at all. I had bought two spare mags from Academy Sports, but both magazines were unreliable. And the mags hold 16 rounds which is cool. A Ruger MkIV Lite is going to cost in the area of $500.00 - $600.00, then require the purchase of a trigger kit for another $100.00+, then a mount for a RDS. Mags are comparably priced, though the TX22 C comes with three vs. 2 for the Ruger.
