Toyota tundra 4hi flashing
Had this problem a few months ago with my 2011. 4WD would flash, then eventually check engine light would come on and it would go in to limp mode. After some research, found it to be an issue with the air injection pump. There was a recall and I was able to get it fixed at no cost at the dealership. I used this brand-new truck for the last 2 days with no problems at all. I get in it this morning and notice the dash is all lit up. The "VSC Off" light blinking, "4LO" light blinking, "Check Engine" light is on and the Slip Indicator light is on ...upstatetundra Discussion starter · May 2, 2012. Well, thought everything was great with the 5100's/new wheels/tires until today. Went to shift into 4x4 and the slip indicator (car with two lines- not the vsc off indicator) comes on and stays lit. The 4hi just sits there and flashes. No 4 wheel drive!

As soon as I switched it over to 2wd, both of those lights started flashing and have been ever since. To cut to the chase, I opened up the center 4wd actuator top black plastic cover (5 screws) and found rust and other corrosion. Cleaned up the corrosion, sprayed everything down including connectors with electric connector cleaner spray and bingo it all worked.The cost of fuel to operate a 6000 pound 400 horsepower half ton that does 0-60 in under 7 seconds is kind of like the price of oil changes for a Porche 911. If you have to ask you probably can't afford it. Thanks for the tip. I disconnected the battery and reconnected with no change. Constant flashing of the 4hi-4lo.
