I'm not sure when or how long it lasted, but that may have been one reason the east entrance was closed. They also closed it when they felt the traffic in the park was too heavy during the memorial day weekend.The canyon, which is a 'miniature Antelope Canyon' is a short off road drive from Kanab. Hiring a local guide is a must as the sandy tracks to the mouth of the canyon are impossible to pass without special tires and expertise. The canyon itself is about 0.8 miles long and so is a easy, flat 1.6 mile round trip.
